Recently we completed a door replacement project in Newton Mearns. White gloss handleless doors were used to great effect and helped transform the kitchen within a very short time-frame. In the right situations, door replacement can provide a quick and highly cost effective alternative to a full kitchen re-design.
The Brief
The original kitchen was very traditional and slightly tired looking and so we felt that an injection of life was needed to modernise the space and give it the “wow-factor”. The customer had painted the original doors and sides of the cabinets so it was our aim to create a very upmarket and classy look with the clever use of gloss panelling to hide any original DIY work that had been done. A budget of £2,800 – £3,100 was set.
The Style of door
We decided to use white gloss handleless doors and the reason for this was that we felt it would modernise the kitchen, lift the overall brightness and compliment the already existing red tiles and white worktop. It was instantly noticeable the difference that the gloss door fronts brought to the overall mood and look of the room.
Finished Article
You will notice that we spent some time perfecting the finishing touches to the kitchen. We upgraded the drawer boxes for the customer free of charge to give them a “soft close” effect and to make the overall experience as good as it possibly could be. The time scale taken for this full transformation was a days work. An additional extra that we did was to upgrade the lighting under the units to an LED warm white light, this created a nice ambient effect during the day and at night.
