Buying a new kitchen is rarely a simple matter of replacing a few units. For most of us it’s the focal point of day to day living and we understand the effect it has on your life when it’s turned upside down, even for a few days! That’s why we have a full project plan for every kitchen we install.
Coordination of the various trades and suppliers takes experience as well as product. Each detailed step in our planning is as important as the next – and there are many of them!
The 7 steps below are a high level summary of all the detailed planning and installation work that we take responsibility for.
Step 1 – IDEAS
We meet to discuss your initial ideas and requirements and if you would like us to prepare 3D plans for your new kitchen we will take some measurements and photographs.
Step 2 – DESIGNS
At a time that suits you, we will present our initial design ideas at our Thornliebank studio. We will discuss cabinet/colour/worktop and appliance options, show you samples and agree budget figures.
Step 3 – CONTRACT
Having arrived at a final design we can agree a contract and there is literally no small print! It ensures that you know what you are buying, and the service you can expect. There is a £250 deposit due on contract signing, an interim payment when the kitchen units order is placed with the manufacturer, and a final payment of £1,500 due once your kitchen is fully installed.
Step 4 – SURVEY
We will introduce our appointed fitter, check final sizes and specifications and agree delivery and fitting dates.
Step 5 – DELIVERY
Kitchen cabinets will arrive on an agreed date immediately ahead of installation. Appliance and worktop delivery will be scheduled shortly thereafter.
Step 6 – INSTALLATION
Our experienced installers will manage all the practical work and liaise with you on matters such as access.
Step 7 – FINAL INSPECTION
Immediately following installation we check all aspects of our work, produce any relevant electrical and gas compliance certificates, and prepare guarantee and completion paperwork.
We never forget that our company’s reputation lies in your hands.
